12V motor for BBQ rotisserie cooking
Keep a rotisserie spit turning steadily with the FD608A-3 BBQ rotisserie motor. This compact motor is designed for grill rotisserie use and is listed with a 70kg load rating, making it suitable for larger rotisserie cooking setups when the grill, spit and mounting arrangement are correctly matched.
The motor runs at 12V and turns at 2.5 revolutions per minute. That slow, consistent rotation is suited to cooking food on a rotisserie spit, helping it move continuously through the cooking area rather than remaining in one position. The motor body is made from metal with an aluminium alloy construction.
Who it suits
This motor is intended for outdoor cooks replacing a rotisserie drive motor or putting together a compatible BBQ rotisserie arrangement. It is also useful for anyone who wants a dedicated 12V motor for a grill-based spit system rather than manually turning the spit during cooking.
- For BBQ and grill rotisserie applications
- 12V electrical operation
- 2.5 RPM motor speed
- Aluminium alloy motor housing
- Listed 70kg load rating
- Compact body measuring approximately 11 x 9 x 8cm
- Output shaft clearance of less than 0.03 m/m
How to choose the correct motor
Mechanical fit is equally important. Compare the motor's approximately 11 x 9 x 8cm dimensions with the available space on your grill. Check that the mounting points, spit connection and drive shaft arrangement on your barbecue match the motor. Do not assume that a motor will fit every grill simply because it is intended for rotisserie use.
The stated output shaft clearance is less than 0.03 m/m. Compare this specification with the shaft and rotisserie components in your own setup before fitting.
Using the motor
Mount the motor securely in the appropriate position on the grill and connect the rotisserie spit according to the arrangement of your barbecue. Make sure the spit is properly supported and balanced before switching the motor on. Confirm that the motor can turn freely without the spit, food or fittings catching against the grill.
Use the motor at its stated 12V supply and 2.5 RPM speed. The listed 70kg load rating should not be treated as a substitute for checking the strength, balance and support of the complete rotisserie assembly. The actual suitability of the finished setup depends on the grill, spit and mounting hardware used with the motor.
Care and storage
Disconnect the motor from its power source before removing it from the grill or carrying out any cleaning. Keep the motor and its electrical connection away from direct contact with water, grease and cooking juices. Allow the unit to cool before handling it after a cook, then wipe the exterior clean and store it in a dry place.
At approximately 685g, the motor is relatively compact to store when not fitted to the barbecue. Keep the shaft and connector protected from knocks, and check the mounting and electrical connection before the next use.
