Choosing the right size

This version is the black 20-inch option. Before buying, measure the area beneath your fire pit or barbecue and compare it with the mat’s 20-inch diameter. The mat is intended for suitable round equipment, but it should not be assumed to fit every Solo Stove, fire pit or BBQ model. Check the footprint of your setup carefully, allowing enough surrounding space for safe use.

Using the mat safely

Place the mat on a suitable, stable outdoor surface before positioning the fire pit or BBQ. The supplied usage guidance shows an 8-inch distance between a fire pit and the mat when used beneath a fire pit. Do not place an open fire directly on the mat. Use the mat as a protective layer beneath compatible equipment, following the instructions for the fire pit or barbecue itself.

Keep the mat positioned flat and check that the appliance stands securely before lighting it. The mat is intended to help protect the surface from embers, ash, grease and oil, but it does not replace the safety clearances or operating instructions for your fire pit or BBQ.

Cleaning and storage

After the mat has cooled completely, remove loose ash and particles and clean away surface dirt, grease or oil. Its smooth coated construction is designed to make cleaning easier after use. Allow it to dry fully before storing it away, and keep it folded or rolled in a clean, dry place when not required.
