Before choosing an option, consider how many foods or temperature points you want to monitor at the same time. The screen size and host battery vary according to the selected probe version: the 1-probe version has a 1.7-inch screen and a 500 mAh host battery, the 2-probe version has a 2.7-inch screen and a 1,000 mAh host battery, and the 4-probe version has a 3.5-inch screen and a 2,000 mAh host battery.

The probes measure internal temperatures from 0 to 100°C (32 to 212°F). The ambient temperature range is 0 to 300°C (32 to 572°F), so the probe can monitor both the food and the surrounding oven or cooking environment within these stated limits. Temperature accuracy is listed as ±1°C (±1.8°F).

The probe is rated IP67 waterproof. Take care around high heat and follow the stated operating limits: the probe should not be exposed to direct flame.

Wireless monitoring for longer cooks

The host and probes are rechargeable. The host charging time is 2 to 3 hours, while probe charging time is 30 minutes. Host standby time is listed as 120 hours, with probe standby time of 24 hours. Wireless transmission is listed at up to 150 metres, although the usable distance can depend on the surroundings and any obstructions between the probe, host and connected mobile device.
