These PGY cooking tongs combine a stainless steel body with wooden food-contact tips for handling ingredients during barbecue cooking and everyday kitchen preparation. The tong shape is suited to lifting, turning and serving foods such as steak, grilled meat, salad, pasta and bread, giving you one practical tool for jobs that call for a controlled grip.

Choose between the 12-inch and 15-inch versions to suit your cooking area and preferred reach. The longer option provides more distance between your hand and the cooking surface, while the shorter size is a convenient choice for general kitchen and serving work.

Stainless steel construction with wooden tips

The main construction is metal, using stainless steel with a finish that is not coated. The wooden tips provide a different contact surface from the stainless steel body and are shaped to hold food as you lift or turn it. Their broad, gently curved profile is suitable for picking up larger pieces of food as well as serving from bowls, pans and plates.

At the opposite end, the wooden handle section includes a hanging hole for storage. The stainless steel arms run through the centre of the tongs, with a pivoted opening and closing action for straightforward one-handed use.

Pull-ring lock for tidier storage

A pull-ring locking mechanism at the end of the handle lets you close the tongs when storing them. Pull the ring to lock the tongs closed and push it to unlock them ready for use. Keeping the arms together can make the utensil easier to place in a drawer or utensil container, while the hanging hole also gives you the option of storing it from a hook.

Choose the size that suits your setup

Both versions have wooden tip sections measuring approximately 11 cm long and 4 cm wide. The overall lengths are different, so check the option carefully before selecting:

• 12 inch: approximately 30 cm overall
• 15 inch: approximately 39 cm overall

The illustrated measurements are manually taken, so an allowance of approximately 1 to 2 cm is normal. Compare the overall length with the space around your barbecue, hob or serving area, particularly if you are choosing the longer pair for grilling.

Use these tongs for turning food on a grill, lifting cooked items from a pan, serving salad or transferring pasta and bread. The wooden-tipped design is also suitable where you prefer not to use an entirely metal utensil against cookware. As with any cooking tool, use the size and reach that give you the most comfortable control for the task in hand.

The tongs are supplied under the PGY brand. They are made in Mainland China and carry FCM certification. Select either the 12-inch or 15-inch size from the available options.
