Designed for grill, barbecue, oven and smoker use, it connects with the BF Home APP or Grill5.0 APP so you can keep track of your cook remotely. Choose the probe configuration that suits your cooking routine, with 1, 2, 4 or 6 probe options available.

The thermometer measures from 0°C to 300°C, or 32°F to 572°F, with a stated accuracy of ±1°C, or ±1.8°F. That makes it suitable for checking meat and food during everyday kitchen cooking as well as longer barbecue and smoking sessions. Its smart alarm and timer functions help you keep an eye on target temperatures while the preset modes provide a convenient starting point for different foods and levels of doneness.

Use the connected app to monitor readings away from the cooker within the stated Bluetooth range of up to 200 feet outdoors or 100 feet indoors. The BF-5 is a smart device, although it is not designed for use within a smart home ecosystem.

Preset cooking guidance and custom settings

The preset temperature choices cover beef, mutton, pork, chicken and fish, along with BBQ smoke and hot smoke. Doneness settings include rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done. These presets make it quicker to select a target for a familiar cook, while the unlimited custom modes allow you to set your own temperature targets when following a particular recipe or cooking method.

The thermometer carries the model number BF-5 and has a plastic construction. It received the 2019 Red Dot Design Award for its design. For the most suitable setup, select the probe option that matches the number of temperatures you want to monitor at once.
